Harry Potter + High Fashion = Gryffindior

Forget the pages of Vogue, all you need is the Gryffindior Instagram feed to scroll through to see the latest trends and designer pieces. If we’re speaking in non-Muggle terms, the account, which has 56.8k followers, would be a potion brewed with 100ml Dior and Dior Homme, 100ml Harry Potter characters, 50ml of high fashion labels and 2 teaspoons of sartorial euphoria.

The mastermind behind Gryffindior is art director, Rachel Bernstein who created Gryffindior as a personal side project for her to improve her Photoshop skills. Talking to Who What Wear, Rachel said “I’ve worked in the fashion industry for the last eight years and grew up reading/watching the Harry Potter franchise, so I loved the idea of creating a world where the Gryffindor House collides with the House of Dior. The audience for both high fashion and Harry Potter thrive off fantasy, strength, and humor, so the two are an easy match.”

Each Instagram post involves a Harry Potter character – from Ron Weasley and Dobby to Bellatrix Lestrange and even Voldemort – wearing pieces from an old or new Dior/Dior Homme collection with features from luxury fashion houses like Chanel, Saint Laurent, Fendi and Balenciaga.

Which Harry Potter character is most likely to wear Dior IRL? Rachel says Fleur Delacour. “She’s essentially the Giovanna Battaglia of the wizarding world. Unfortunately she’s not a member of Gryffindor, so I’ll just have to figure out another way to feature her.”
