From living life on the edge to living life to the fullest, Conrad Coetzee did a complete 180 and got the body of his dreams.
Afraid of reaching A
weight he couldn’t come back from, local attorney Conrad Coetzee decided enough was enough and revamped his life. ‘I enjoyed my red wine and good food on a regular (almost daily) basis,’ he says of his previous lifestyle habits. ‘I didn’t care what I was eating or drinking, as long as I enjoyed myself.’ With self-determination and help from an experienced coach, Conrad discovered that his body had so much more to offer.
When Did You Know It Was Time For A Change?
It got to a point where I started buying bigger and bigger clothes on a weekly basis, and that’s when I realised that I would have to make a change. Coming from a family where both my father and brother were overweight, I realized that I was heading in the same direction and if I didn’t make a change, I would also end up weighing over 150 kg like them.
What Is Your Current Training Routine?
I’m an East Coast Transformations member and with the guidance of my coach Nick Robert, it’s very easy to stay fit and active. Nick provides me with a full diet plan and training programme that is updated based on your progress and goals. Currently, I’m on a cutting programme, and therefore I do 60 minutes of fasted cardio in the morning daily, and then weight training in the evenings with 30 minutes of cardio post-weight training.
How Important Is Diet For You?
I believe that food and nutrition are the most important factors in any healthy lifestyle. If you don’t fully commit and concentrate on your food and nutrition intake, you will never achieve the results that you actually want to.
Besides Your Coach, What Else Motivates You?
Seeing the results of my hard work will always motivate me. But I also receive messages from people I don’t even know, thanking me for motivating them through my body transformation – that’s the ultimate encouragement for me. I never thought that I would be able to motivate other people by transforming myself.
What Have You Gained The Most From This Journey?
Knowing that anything is possible with hard work, dedication and discipline. I was always the guy that said ‘If only I could look like that or like this’, but I never believed that I actually could look like the sports star on the cover page of a fitness magazine until I fully committed to a lifestyle change. I have so much more energy and self-confidence in myself, and have found a more dynamic outlook on life as well as in my work. I can actually enjoy life to the fullest now, because I am happy with myself as a person.

Let an expert help you, because if you really want to achieve that goal, you need the help and advice of an expert. Follow and fully trust the process, it will take time but you will achieve that goal if you are fully committed to the process.’
