Celebs & Their Furry Friends

“Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring–it was peace.”

– Milan Kundera

There’s nothing more fulfilling than the love of a little furry friend – or in some cases ‘big’ furry friend. If you’re a pet owner then you’ll agree that dogs are truly a blessing, and if not then you should know that to have one be a member of your family has scientifically been proven to enhance one’s health and happiness.

There are so many animal lovers out there and some celebrities are amongst the biggest lovers of them all! From multiple Instagram posts to supporting animal organisations out of the goodness of their hearts, celebs are proving that their furry friends provide a constant supply of entertainment, love and joy.

In honour of these paw pals, we’re taking a look at a few celebrities who enjoy every minute spent with their four-legged family members.

Oprah Winfrey

This one comes as no surprise. Oprah’s dogs are not just her pets, they’re truly her best mates – and you bet they’re on the very top of her list of favourite things! The two golden retrievers, Luke and Layla, cocker spaniel Sadie, and her springer spaniels, named Sunny and Lauren, are treated like royalty and are always ready to take a family portrait.

Ellen DeGeneres

Pet smarties, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, really give most pet junkies a run for their money! In March this year, Ellen launched her very own 12-episode animated pet show called ‘Ellen’s Pet Dish’, giving her little furry family something, other than The Ellen DeGeneres Show, to watch while she’s away at work. How cute is that?

Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart’s two Doberman Pinscher buddies, Riggs and Roxy, have really turned him into a dog-type-of-guy. He now loves dogs so much that he placed a bunch of cute puppies on the cover of his new book, I Can’t Make This Up: Life Lessons.

Kaley Cuoco

Despite causing a bit of a controversy last year (she posted a picture of her dogs posing, in celebration of the 4th of July weekend, on an American flag) she has proven that she is all about love and commitment when it comes to all animals. From horses to cats, Kaley adores the animal kingdom, which is why she can’t seem to stop expanding her family – she tends to adopt a new dog every now and then.

Amanda Seyfried

The American actress and singer-songwriter is well-known for being an advocate and active supporter of the Best Friends Animal Society’s Save Them All campaign. Her adopted rescue dog and bestie, Finn, brings so much love and light into her life – which she always documents on Instagram.

Usher

The R&B legend happens to have a soft side to him. His darling, Scarlett the Golden-doodle, always flies private with him and gets to sleep on his bed too, proving that she is his little princess.
