Womanist, digital entrepreneur and wanderer Lerato Kgamanyane is what #TravelGoals are all about!
If her Insta feed is anything to go by, we can confidently say that Lerato Kgamanyane is living her best life and leaving us with serious travel envy. However, it’s not all about the rose-tinted filters and exotic destinations. This stylish and distinguished young boss lady is all about female empowerment and creating a space where women can feel validated in their experiences.
Passion + Talent
At the age of 17, Lerato already knew that her passion was in the fashion industry, and started out working in retail, as a stylist for Urban Degree. However, according to an interview with The Plug, she put her plans on hold when she moved to Joburg at 19 to figure out the whole university game. During this time, she realised that she had a flair for writing, saying in the interview that she doesn’t express herself best in speech, but rather through pen and paper. After discovering her talent, she decided to merge it with her passion for fashion, and channelled that energy into her blog.
Power of Women
At just 23, she is the founder of a social-media management and creative-consultancy company, HellenRose. Lerato provides a platform for women who come from different backgrounds, cultures, career fields and perspectives to create and write their own content. According to the website, the purpose was to acknowledge and share the strength, resolve and power of women. The website has pieces on beauty, business, fashion, travel and more. It also has a unique feature that allows you to search for top-rated female-owned businesses or attractions, further proving that Lerato is all about girl power. We are so here for this!
High Flyin’
It is fair to say that Lerato has done her share of globetrotting as she has visited Paris, Bali and even Tanzania. Through her beautifully curated social-media feed, she shares every aspect of her trips, from delicious breakfast spreads to stunning scenery. Not only that, she shows her 100k following that even when you are a tourist, it is still possible to look fly. Whether she is sporting designer brands such as Gucci or Louis Vuitton, or wearing a plain white tee and jeans, Lerato is always killing it. Her style and travels have also opened doors, as she has worked and collaborated with the likes of Boschendal Wines and even Vogue Eyewear. All we can say is that Lerato is definitely one to watch!
