Three Holiday Destinations That Require No Visa

Want to explore the world without having to deal with all the paperwork? Here are Three awesome holiday destinations –no visa required!

Love to travel? Same. Well, it’s better to see something once than hear about it a thousand times, right? That alone is enough to make us want to start packing our bags. But problems that SA passport holders constantly face are centred around the visa application processes –they are expensive and admin intensive and can make the whole experience seem daunting. Fortunately, there are some nations that are willing to welcome us with open arms (for a limited time only), so that we can experience their countries without needing a visa. Here are five that will make you want to book flights, like, yesterday.

1. Brazil
This South American nation knows how to party (look no further than their carnivals). There are a lot of similarities between SA and our neighbours across the Atlantic, and their main cities, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, boast urban as well as natural attractions for days. You can stay there for up to 90 days without a visa and it’s around R4 to one Brazilian real, meaning you won’t need to take out a loan to be able to enjoy walks down Ipanema beach.

2. Thailand
There’s a reason that this South East Asian nation is so popular with tourists, and it’s not just because it’s referred to as ‘The Land of Smiles’. If the bustling metropolis of Bangkok isn’t your vibe, retreat to the beaches, which are pretty spectacular, and are often host to some fun parties. You can stay in Thailand for 30 days without a visa and you’ll get around 2.20 Thai baht to a rand, making it the perfect place for a budget island getaway. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

3. Russia
Are you less into sun and sand and more up for a winter wonderland? Then Russia most definitely deserves a spot on your travel bucket list. While it doesn’t snow all year round, if you go between November and April, you will probably be able to make snow angels for the full 90 days you are allowed to be there visa-free (if that’s what you’re into). Plus, it’s about 5 Russian rubles to a rand, which means that the exchange rate is on our side. Make the most of it!
