And although she has quite a demanding life – navigating being a digital entrepreneur, wife and mom to two kids – Aisha still makes sure to prioritise her own health and wellness too while encouraging more women to do the same. We sat down with her to learn more.
What inspired you to create Baked the Podcast?
I had an audio podcast and was always looking to take it to the next level, which would include a visually aesthetic podcast that had a little bit of everything. My directive for the conversations we have is to centre them around the female experience as a South African woman – be that dating, fashion, beauty, sports and beyond. I’ve always lived by the statement ‘live to inspire’ and this is one of the corner stones of the podcast.

How was the journey, leading up to the launch of the podcast?
There was a lot of doubt from friends and family and admittedly myself, too. I was concerned I couldn’t handle the pressure of being so present online again after taking some time away to focus on parenting my kids. However, things seem to be heading in a great direction, so I’m really excited for the future of this podcast.
On your podcast, you mention that you believe balance is unachievable. Tell us more about that.
I think having a balanced life as a goal is wonderful but achieving true balance has never been something I think is realistic. We can strive for it but often times something has got to give, and sacrifices need to be made in order to achieve our goals, which in turn tips the scales to either side.
How do you prioritise your wellness?
I’m huge on exercise and a balanced, healthy diet. I try to work out, walk or move in my own home on a daily basis. I eat a fairly healthy diet even though I indulge in sweet treats here and there. One thing I make sure I do is to get sun in my eyes first thing in the morning as opposed to my phone— this takes 3 minutes or less. An absolute non-negotiable is taking a daily probiotic supplement along with multivitamins and magnesium.
Any advice for those experiencing burnout?
It’s really hard to advise on this as we all have different circumstances that can hinder us, so I can only share my own experiences. Having had burnout in my 30s, I decided to stop everything and recover completely. For others, it could look like taking a step back from family- or friend obligations or creating boundaries around how much labour we take on at home. It could look like ordering take-out on weekends so you can rest and recoup.
