THE BIG BANG THEORY Is Coming to An End

After 12 seasons, 52 Emmy nominations and 10 Emmy wins, the most popular comedy on television, The Big Bang Theory is coming to an end in 2019. Warner Bros. Television announced on Aug 23rd that the show will come to a close in the new year but viewers will not be left empty-handed as the upcoming season will apparently be epic.

The series originally started in 2007 with 5 main characters: physicians Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper, their co-workers, aerospace engineer Howard Wolowitz and astrophysicist Raj Koothrappali and their neighbour, Penny. Over time, more characters like girlfriends, wives and family members were included in the show.

The success of The Big Bang theory over the years

– The Big Bang Theory has averaged 18.6 million viewers per episode in its 11th season, more than any other television show in the USA.

– In 2016, the OG cast earned about $1 million (over R14 million) per episode.

– It’s been speculated that it’s the most expensive television show to produce, which may be the reason why it wasn’t picked up for a 13th season.

– For season 11, their salaries experienced a $100,000 (R1,4 million ) per episode pay cut to give co-stars, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch higher salaries.

As you can probably guess, the stars of the show are devastated about the ending of the show but promise to give fans the best season yet!
