What’s not to love about Chrissy Teigen? The Clapback Queen has kept us entertained for years with her wit, sarcasm and general relatableness. Chrissy, who has been a model since 2006, has been an avid believer in documenting bits of her life on social media and giving it back to her internet trolls. Here’s why we love Chrissy Teigen.
She’s the complete foodie
If you follow Chrissy on Instagram, you’ve probably seen the most delicious food on her feed as well as on her Instagram stories. In 2016, Chrissy published her New York best-selling cooking book, Cravings: Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat and has recently published the follow-up book to Cravings called Cravings 2. We love that Chrissy is a supermodel but isn’t afraid to enjoy her passion for food. Speaking to Rita Braver for Sunday’s Best: Celebrating 40 Years of CBS Sunday Morning, she said: “I really prefer being happy and getting to eat things that I love, still wanting to be healthy. But I just don’t care about looking good in a swimsuit anymore. I guess that’s the only way to put it.”
Her clapbacks are legendary
The wrath of a Chrissy Teigen clapback is like no other. Celebrities attract internet trolls like moths to a flame and when you’re as outspoken as Chrissy, you receive it in a abundance. But, Chrissy gives it back and there’s a reason why she’s known as the undisputed clapback queen. In one instance, a Twitter user commented that all Chrissy does is “eat, sleep and spend other people’s money.” In true Chrissy fashion, she responded to the hater with a picture of her net worth and the caption “my money.” Mic drop.
Her ability to laugh at herself
Remember when Chrissy’s crying face at the 2015 Golden Globes went viral? Since then, she’s been caught unconsciously pulling faces that represent every single mood and in turn, becoming a meme queen. Chrissy knows that life shouldn’t be taken too seriously and is always posting unflattering selfies of herself (in a world where perfection is worshipped) and laughs off any embarrassing moments by poking fun of herself.
She’s a fighter for the greater good
Chrissy may live that supermodel, celebrity wife and mom life but she’s always down to fight for causes she believes in. She’s been an avid supporter of the #MarchForOurLives movement and donated $25,000 to the gun reform rally. She’s also been involved in her own personal causes like donating over $5,000 to a beauty student’s tuition. Chrissy continues her humanitarian efforts and continues to make a difference in the world.
Chrissy is unapologetically herself and inspires women and girls around the world to stay true to who they are and live your life for you. Here’s to you, Chrissy – we love you!
