She’s got brains and beauty

A medical doctor in training, Miss SA Tamaryn Green is a sixth year medical student at the University of Cape Town. As Miss South Africa, Tamaryn wants to use her medical knowledge to better the lives of those around her.

She loves fitness and staying active

She is a fitness fanatic who lives by the motto “healthy body, healthy mind”. Tamaryn loves hitting up the gym on a regular basis and sees exercise as a stress reliever. When sees not working out, she takes her love of sports to the outdoors – swimming and hiking are some of her favourite activities.

She’s a family girl

Family comes first for Tamaryn, and this becomes clearer when talking to the beauty queen. She looks about to her parents, both of whom are huge role models in her life.Tamaryn also has two siblings: her 26-year-old sister who is a qualified physiotherapist, as well as a 19-year-old brother who is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree.   

She’s a pageant pro

The newly crowned Miss SA is no stranger to the pageant world. Before taking the crown as Miss South Africa, Tamaryn took part in seven other pageants and won the titles of four, namely, Miss Immanuel, Miss New Orleans, Miss Rochester and Paarl’s Miss Funky Buddha. Talk about perfecting her craft!

She’s relatable

Tamaryn has her guilty pleasure just like the rest of us – when it comes to TV, it’s all about Grey’s Anatomy and Friends for this beauty queen, and lets just say she has a weakness when it comes to love songs. Tamaryn is adamant on using her platform as Miss SA to not only represent her country but also to  inspire and motivate young people, showing them that anything is indeed possible.
