We’ve all heard of, and probably even own, a pair of boyfriend jeans, but now there’s a new oversized fashion item in town: the boyfriend blazer. Still, this doesn’t mean you can go shopping for it in the men’s section. While it’s a looser-fitting, slightly more masculine-style jacket that you’re after, you’ll find the perfect boyfriend blazer has been designed with the female form in mind, and can really flatter it.
WHY WE LOVE IT
If you’re planning to look polished, but not too severe, then a chic yet relaxed-looking boyfriend blazer will do the trick as it pairs fabulously with fitted jeans and a simple tee or vest. This doesn’t mean you can’t dress it up too, though. Swap out your jeans for a pair of leather-look jeggings, add a pair of high-heeled boots or stilettos and you’re ready for your big night out. Change the look by cinching the blazer at the waist with a narrow belt.
TOP TIP
If you have opted for a longer-length version extending below the hips, and want to wear it with a dress, ensure that the hemline is lower than the jacket. If you’re on the shorter side, wearing a longer-length jacket with flats creates the illusion of a very short leg, so break out your heels for a sleek silhouette.
