The cutest brunch spots across the country, fit for indulging in whims of sheer leisure.
Goddess Café
Goddess Café is more than just a café – it’s a celebration of self-love, joy and abundance. Designed for women who embrace their inner goddess, this pink-hued sanctuary offers the perfect setting for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and indulgent cakes. With four locations in Gauteng, it’s the ultimate girly spot for a catch-up brunch or special occasion. A must-try? Anything from Mary Jane’s Pink Pancake Bar – sweet or savoury! And don’t forget to share a Friendship Jug, described as “1 litre of pure happiness.” At Goddess Café, you’re reminded: Girl, you got this!
Mulberry & Prince
Soft hues of pink alongside copper finishes and rustic brick walls, Mulberry and Prince has planted their brunch roots firmly on Pepper Street in Cape Town. Opened back in 2016, serving all-day breakfast with a unique American-style twist, this quaint establishment has remained a firm favourite, and for good reason! Their Nutella French toast is easily a winner, while chicken and waffles with syrup remains a classic in their kitchen. If you’re looking for a stylish brunch and a reason to call on your girlfriends, this is it.
Savages
The Gqeberha babes who brunch definitely know this spot, but if you ever find yourself in the Friendly City on a girls’ trip then do check it out. The heritage house is set on the peaceful “oval” road, as it’s known to locals, with towering figs across the road and on the property itself. Lush lawns, a soothing fountain and manicured flower beds are an easy breezy backdrop to an utterly delicious brunch. Choose a spot on the wrap-around veranda or inside, where warm wooden floors and jewel tones greet you. Take your pick from no less than five eggs Benedicts (spicy chorizo, anyone?), but the “Boss lady waffle” has our name on it. It’s a tough ask but try to save space for a slice of their legendary carrot cake – or at least take one home for afternoon tea!
PANTRY by Gemelli (Not to be confused with Pantry by Marble)
Brunch bliss is the best way to describe PANTRY by Gemelli. Tucked away in Bryanston, Sandton, this sexy and sophisticated brunch spot not only serves delicious breakfast and lunch options but doesn’t compromise on aesthetics and vibes. What also sets them apart is their extensive menu and creative dishes, which incorporates local favourites such as magwinya and dombolo.
Olives & Plates
For an unforgettable culinary experience in Johannesburg, Olives & Plates is a must-visit. With its sophisticated yet inviting ambiance, this Mediterranean-inspired restaurant offers a tantalising menu full of fresh, vibrant flavours. The chic decor, featuring exposed brick and warm lighting, complements the menu’s emphasis on seasonal ingredients.
