She’s one of South Africa’s top sports broadcasters but that’s not all! We highlight the reasons Motshidisi is one of South Africa’s treasures.
Her head is in the game
Not only does she dominate in a field that has traditionally been led by men, she knows how to maximise her strengths. “Some women come into the business and want to be one of the boys and fit in, but I think you should stand out. Being the anomaly is our real x-factor,” she says. Now, as a senior rugby anchor for SuperSport International, she’s made a name for herself… and she’s taking us along with her.
Her age doesn’t limit her
We love that she’s made such an impressive mark at just 33. Her ambition and drive to succeed without letting her age hold her back is what we aspire to. We can’t wait to see what the rest of her career holds!
She followed her passion
While studying accounting at UJ, she worked at the university’s radio station UJFM. Her experience in radio later landed her a job at YFM as a sports broadcaster. And, would you believe, her passion for sports came from her school days where she played netball and hockey. Plus, she was a cheerleader, too.
She’s one of us
Motshidisi has a way of making her followers feel like an old friend. It’s easy to relate to her easy way of talking sports and the selfies she shares (in the car, in the bed, at work… just like us). We get to see her glammed-up moments as well as a sneak peek into her everyday life. (Plus, she swears by Vaseline, too!).
Plus, she looks amazing while doing it all!
