The Sobekwa Twins talk growth, grit & glow-ups

Bound by blood, driven by purpose, the Sobekwa Twins are changing the game!

It’s the first month of 2026, and if you’ve scrolled through your feed lately, chances are you’ve already seen this dynamic duo doing their thing. Matching energy (not outfits) and mirroring each other’s brilliance, rather than hopping on fleeting trends.

Anelisa and Asanele Sobekwa are the twin force redefining what it means to step into your power, on your own terms, while still being in perfect sync with your roots.

Arriving at ClubX HQ, they’re not here to preach about all those ‘new year, new me’ clichés. Their message is simple and to the point: You don’t need to become someone else to grow. You just need to level up the real you.

Same same, but different

These spirited Scorpios (born on 30 October 1997) from Cape Town were brought up by a loving family that always encouraged them to be themselves and follow their dreams. Spending much of their early life dressing alike (and, of course, pranking those who couldn’t tell them apart), they thrived on their twin synergy like most sets do. But as they’ve grown up, each has worked to cultivate her own voice.

“Growing up, Asanele always said she wanted to be ‘famous’, and so my thinking was: if you’re famous, then I guess I’ll be famous too!” Anelisa says.

“To be honest, when Instagram started becoming popular, our main goal was to get free things from brands… This was back in 2017. At the time, we didn’t think pursuing this as a career would have been profitable, but then it all just happened organically.”
