One always comes across a plenitude of health and beauty articles regarding skin care for women. However, today we’re taking the time to help our guys out with a few simple facial care tips for men. We’ve put together a short list of things that all guys should consider when it comes to the health and maintenance of their skin.
Keep your pores unclogged and your skin clean
If you have not done so already, then it is time to put that bar of soap down. It is important to develop good skincare habits, such as establishing a customised daily regime. Use a good cleanser every day, at least twice a day, to make sure that no bacteria gets left behind.
One word: Moisturise!
Find a soothing face cream that will keep your skin smooth and glowing. Opt for vitamin-enriched formulas that are non-greasy and does not contain oils that could promote oily skin. If you have sensitive skin, it is important to then avoid creams that contain unnecessary parabens.
Invest in a high-quality shaving kit
Please stop purchasing cheap razors as these could damage your skin. Opting for a high-end razor that suits your skin’s level of sensitivity, as well as the coarseness of your beard, will go a long way in preventing scars. It is also good to use a soothing shaving gel and after- shave product to cool and hydrate your skin (especially if you’re shaving a few times a week).
Layer up on sunscreen
The harmful rays of the sun will damage your skin and speed up ageing. This is why it is essential to guard your dermal cells (unless you’d prefer to wrinkle at an early stage).
Replenish your system
Taking vitamins that could promote your skin’s health and natural glow is always a good choice. Omega-3 Fatty Acids and vitamins such as A, B3, C and E are great for nourishment and prevention of skin problems. It is even better to eat foods that naturally contain these vitamins, such as avocado, nuts, liver and spinach.
