A woman with astounding presence and an old school soul, Sanaa McCoy Lathan, is one of Hollywood’s most celebrated Black female actresses of all time. Humble at heart, she possesses an amazing sense of self, taking on powerful roles that make up an admirable legacy. Romantic dramas such as Love & Basketball and Disappearing Acts, put her on the map and soon after they achieved major success in 2000, Sanaa was well on her way to making it onto the A-list.
Since then we’ve had the pleasure of watching this incredible artist’s entertainment career flourish, with films such as Brown Sugar and The Family That Preys keeping us glued to our screens. Sanaa has also ventured into voice acting and philanthropy, starting her very own organisation, The Sanaa Lathan Foundation.
In honour of Women’s Month, we’re taking the time to celebrate extraordinary, strong woman who are making waves in their respective fields. Taking this into consideration, there’s no questioning why we’re loving the talented Sanaa McCoy Lathan.
