Simple Stain Solutions

When it comes to expensive, cherished garments, the last thing anyone wants to do is make the mistake of getting nasty smudges and splatters all over them. However, as humans, staining clothing items every now and then is inevitable.

We’ve put together a list of a few simple stain solutions that are bound to make most stain dilemmas vanish in moments.

Cosmetics
Cure your garment’s fabric with a pretreatment that contains a high quality prewash stain remover, liquid laundry detergent and powder detergent mixed with water to form a paste or. Rub this onto the stain and then launder.

Candle wax
Scrape the surface wax of the fabric using a flat, blunt knife, then place the stain between some fresh paper towels and press together – using a warm iron. Change the paper towels regularly in order to absorb all the wax and avoid transferring the stains. Dab remaining stain with a sponge and prewash stain remover, blot with paper towel and then allow to dry. Once dried, you may put the garment into a washing machine.

Chocolate
When the stain strikes, gently scrape off any excess chocolate. Once you get the item home, soak it in cool water. Then pretreat with a prewash stain remover and launder in the hottest water that’s safe for the fabric.

Wine
Gently dab the stain with some cold water (or soak for about 30 minutes in cool water). Pre-treat the stain with a pre-wash stain erasure substance. If the garment’s label indicates that it is safe for the fabric to be placed in a laundry machine, do so and pour in some bleach to ensure proper stain removal.

Blood Stains
If the stain is new, soak your clothing item in some cold water for 30 minutes to an hour. Hot water will set the blood stains. If you are dealing with dried in stains, pretreat or soak your garment in warm water with a laundry product that contains additional enzymes. If this does not completely remove the stain, check the label to see if the stains may be safely bleached out.
