Beanies are a statement fashion staple that can take any average, everyday look and turn it into a dope, memorable outfit. The key to rocking this type of headwear during winter is to choose the best shape, texture and colour for your personality – and preferably a style that suits your face shape. If you want to go for the pulled-down look, opt for a classic cuffed-style beanie that covers your forehead and stops just above your eyebrows. This will frame your face quite nicely. However, if you prefer the slouchy look, position your beanie a few centimeters away from your hairline.

Puffer jackets will never go out of style. Not only was it a ’90s fashion staple, these padded statement jackets are practical – capable of locking in heat on the iciest of days. We’ve also noticed a few fashionistas posing on Instagram, wearing an OOTD that pairs faux leather pants with a puffer coat, creating an effortlessly cool look. Whether it is faux or genuine, leather fashion items make instant wardrobe staples. From leather gloves to leather utility jackets, these are the pieces you want to invest in so that you have them on standby every winter. In fact, they’re so versatile, they work for any season! Go for a monochromatic look, or get grungy with a pair of statement leather boots. Anything goes when it comes to leather looks. Leather also tends to have great day-to-night appeal. So you can simply wear it with your office outfit by day, and switch things up on your way out to meet your crew in the evening. 

Textured Vests

The vest is a major winter fashion trend this year. Fresh from the runway, we’re seeing minimalist styled knitted vests being layered over and beneath various other winter warmers. A truly versatile item, the knitted vest can easily be dressed up or down, bringing a distinctly effortless chic to any ensemble it accompanies. Worn over a shirt, on top of a voluminous dress, or on its own, this is the one trendy item you want to get your hands on this season. 

Chunky Footwear

It’s simple: boots are in this season. And people are loving the chunkier kind above all else. Platform boots are all the rage right now and look great whether you are going for a preppy look or a classic outfit. We’re seeing a retro, grunge revival lately, so most fashion enthusiasts have been making their chunky boots the statement piece of their everyday look. Wear them with loose cropped denims, cargo pants, or even with mini skirts and dresses – they’re just SO in right now! The trick is to wear them and walk with confidence.
