Radio is one of our most intimate and enduring forms of storytelling, requiring an authentic presence from the person behind the microphone. When these three powerhouse broadcasters stepped onto the set of our cover shoot, the collective energy was an instant reminder of why they hold the attention of the nation. Far from just voices floating through car speakers, they represent a dynamic shift in media: women who lead with grace, relatability and a fierce commitment to their community.

The stark white studio space instantly lit up with sunshiney warmth as their distinct personalities filled the space. Olwethu arrived with an air of effortless style and elegance, her grounded presence immediately setting a welcoming tone. Suga, a legend of Cape Town’s airwaves, brought the effortless, cheerful nature of a true trendsetter. Rounding out the trio was Jamie-Lee, whose explosive, bubbly energy and brilliant laugh kept the entire crew smiling, from the first wardrobe change to the final frame.
