‘All-Inclusive’ Luxury Finally Comes to the Seychelles

With the opening of Seychelles to South African travellers, and the recent launch of the luxurious Club Med Seychelles Exclusive Collection resort, the incredible island archipelago finally has the all-inclusive resort experience visitors have always craved.

The 220-hectare private island of Sainte Anne – a short transfer from the main island of Mahé – is now home to the new Club Med Seychelles. This gives visitors from South Africa a chance to experience the well-renowned Club Med holiday experience in one of the world’s most picturesque places. As an Exclusive Collection resort, Club Med Seychelles is a luxury flagship property for the globe-spanning group and the only resort on the island. 60% of the Seychelles is protected by environmental laws, two sites appear on the UNESCO World Heritage list, and it boasts incredible flora and fauna, making it one of the most magical destinations in the Indian Ocean.

All-inclusive luxury, safe together

Aside from the trademark Club Med hospitality, the opening of the Seychelles resort also brings the all-inclusive option to the island nation, with up-front package pricing including transfers, accommodation, all meals, drinks, in-resort activities – and plenty more. For even more convenience, guests also have the option to include flights and transfers in their package for a seamless booking experience.

Of course, COVID-19 safety is a priority for all travellers, and the Seychelles government has been running a superlative vaccination programme for its population and has already achieved more than 72% vaccination coverage. In addition, Club Med’s ‘Safe Together’ policy puts in place strict safety protocols across the board to ensure that guests can relax and enjoy their vacation in a COVID-safe environment. As an exclusive island, Sainte Anne offers seclusion, and the scale of the resort’s ‘village’ makes it easy to maintain social distancing.

Enjoy a Robinson Crusoe experience

Club Med Seychelles offers all the beauty that visitors would imagine from the destination, complete with white sand beaches, giant granite boulders smoothed by the waves, turquoise waters, and lush vegetation. There are endless possibilities for adventure that capitalise on the stunning surrounding natural beauty, including supervised exploration hikes to discover local flora, fauna and history and jungle adventures with an interactive app for the kids. Biodiversity workshops to discover turtles and the local ecosystem are on offer, plus a conservation program with a natural tortoise enclosure and wild endangered bird species. Educational activities are also provided at the Kids’ Club like the Robinson Crusoe Garden and cooking classes, all developed in partnership with Gérard Rocamora, Professor of Biodiversity at Mahé University of Seychelles.

For explorers, apart from scuba diving in the Indian Ocean and a wide variety of other water and land sports, there are guided snorkeling tours that take in endangered species and discuss conservation. Guests can also enjoy a coral reef restoration program with a nursery in the resort and workshops with biologists to learn about coral and tortoises, adaptable for kids, families, and adults – all facilitated in partnership with WiseOceans.

The 290 rooms the resort offers are split into Superior/Superior Family/Deluxe and five types of Suites to cater for individual, couple, group, and family travel.  With dedicated family areas and separate Zen spaces for adults wishing to unwind in tranquility, it really does offer fun for the whole family. The resort is home to five restaurants & bars, a Yoga school & studio, Club Med Spa by Cinque Mondes, steam room, fitness room, library and even a fully equipped meetings & events space. ‘Easily accessible from South Africa and offering all-inclusive luxury, Club Med Seychelles is set to become a major new travel destination for those seeking space, safety and the ultimate island setting,’ says Laura Hendel, Head of Marketing at Club Med South Africa. ‘Whether guests wish to indulge in the property’s extensive facilities or explore the astounding natural beauty all around, there’s something for everyone on an island, all of their own.’
