Health Benefits Of The Moringa Tree

Moringa has loads of health benefits, from its leaves to its roots. Get in on the action by planting your own
tree in your garden.

Also known as the miracle tree, moringa’s (Moringa oleifera) benefits are bountiful. It contains more potassium than bananas, is packed with iron, calcium, antioxidants, vitamin A and C, and boasts all eight essential amino acids. Its pods may be little and slender, but good things come in small packages.

Northern Indians and Africans have long been aware of the health-giving properties of the tree, using virtually every part of it. The Western world has since caught up, packing dried leaf powder into smoothies, salads and even meals. You can eat almost every part of the plant: the sweet string-bean-like pods, nutrient-dense leaves, crunchy seeds and dried roots similar to horseradish. The oil extracted from
the seeds has been used in cooking, as biofuel, in cosmetics and preservatives.
