Healthy Snacks To Keep In Your Desk Drawer

Essential healthy snacks that should be kept in your desk drawer.

A jar of almighty Peanut butter
I bring a hunk of sourdough bread from home and a handful of juicy strawberries, and I can whip up a quick, delectable lunch. My favourite treat of the moment is raw peanut-butter cookies. A handful of oats, a dollop of peanut butter and a heavy-handed drizzle of honey is all you need. I roll them into balls and lightly press them down with the palm of my hand to make cookies.

A one-litre glass bottle of  Vanilla rooibos iced tea
I’m serious about consuming my two litres of water on a daily basis. I have a glass bottle that I fill with a vanilla-scented rooibos teabag, a dash of hot water to release the flavour, then topped up with cold water. It sits next to me like a loyal desk buddy, and seems to intrigue almost every colleague who strolls past my desk. I have definitely inspired others to drink more water with this method.

A slab of salted dark Chocolate
The reality of working in an office is that sometimes a piece of fruit doesn’t give
you that desired pick-me-up. Enter my emergency salted dark chocolate. I have
a habit of closing my eyes when I place a block of umami salted chocolate in my mouth, transporting me away from my desk for a moment.
