What makes your heart tick? 

Needs some fun fact? Here are some cool facts about the heart:

Fact 1 The heart is responsible for distributing oxygen-rich blood all over your body, from the top of your heard to the very tips of your toes. 

Fact 2 The heart lies at a little angle, tilting slightly to the left. The size of you heart is also said to be the same size as your clenched fist. Try clenching your fist to see how big your heart is. 

Fact 3 Many believe that the heart lies on the left side of our chest, but it is actually in the middle in between the lungs and is protected by the rib cage. 

Fact 4 The heart beats on average 115 000 times a day.

Fact 5 The heart is one of the strongest muscles in your entire body, and it is also one of the hardest working muscles because it is constantly beating and pumping blood. 

Fact 6 The heart is made up for four very important parts known as chambers. They are called the left atrium, the right atrium, the left ventricle and the right ventricle. In each chamber, there is a valve that makes sure that blood is being pumped in the right direction. 

Fact 7 The sound your heart makes when it beats is from the valves opening and closing.

Fact 8 Why is laughing good for your heart? It decreases stress and gives your immune system an extra boost!
