Best Summer Hangout Spots 2021

Can we get a ‘hoora!’ for summer being here? We’re sure we’re not the only ones who have been craving all that this season has in store – basking in the sun, cooling off in the pool and spending hours at the beach. It’s also the absolute best time to gather your squad and head off to a lively hangout spot in your area. Lucky for you, we’ve done the searching for you. Here are our picks of the best places to visit this summer.

CAVE GOLF

WHERE: Dock Road, V&A Waterfront

WHY: The V&A Waterfront has so much to offer. No wonder it’s such a hangout hotspot, both during and outside of the holiday season. One of their popular spaces is the Cave Golf course that’s situated at the equally exciting Scratch Patch (perfect for those stone-collecting friends in the group). At just R35 per player, you and your mates can enjoy the 18-hole mini-golf course with it’s cool rock features and obstacles that will add to the excitement. And bonus: it’s located close to the Two Oceans Aquarium – did someone say a whole-day adventure in the buzzing Cape Town Waterfront?

ROLLERCADE

WHERE: Parking Floor 3 Battery Park, V&A Waterfront

WHY: Who doesn’t love a good throwback to the ’80s? We sure do! Especially when it’s in

the form of a roller rink. Guys and girls, get ready for the time of your life at Cape Town’s first indoor rollerskating arena. On-site DJs will make sure that you can skate to the beat of some amazing tunes. And when you’re ready to take a break, why not enjoy a round of pool or some of the available arcade games? For R150 you get a two-hour session, skate hire and safety gear (or bring your own skates and pay only R80).
