Organic Light Emitting Diode, or OLED, tech is produced almost exclusively by LG and is a fundamentally different TV technology to every other brand on the market. Instead of shining LED light bulbs from behind the screen to make the screen image, in OLED, every pixel on the screen can be individually controlled for colour and brightness.

This can produce extremely accurate colours, because no light is leaking through to bleed into the picture. Blacks are especially solid, because using OLED, these pixels can be turned off entirely. LG’s C3 OLED is not cheap, and it’s not even LG’s top product, but it still offers possibly the best overall picture quality in our line-up, with a full house of image-processing chops and audio enhancements. For gamers there’s 120 Hz refresh, 0.1 millisecond response times, and full support for gaming PC graphics.
