Turn up the volume with this season’s most badass wireless speaker: BOOMBOCS BRX V2.0 CLASSIC
We are the original boom-box masters – you’d have been hard-pressed to find us anywhere in the ’80s other than break- dancing to the latest beats … ahem. So, we’re all about the arrival of BoomBocs, a range of wireless speakers that look like the retro blaster we’ve always wanted.
There are three speakers in the range, starting with the BRX v2.0 Classic, the flagship wireless speaker in the BoomBocs gang. It comes in eight
colours, some subtle, some wild (hello, hot orange), and houses a 200-watt digital amplifier. The speaker connects wirelessly or via a low-latency aux cable. It dishes out up to 20 hours of playback if you pimp it with a rechargeable battery. That kicks the price up to R14 000, but we reckon it’s worth it just to take this blaster along on all-day hangouts at the park.
It saps so much juice that you’ll need to stay connected to mains power, or add the rechargeable battery option, which plays for 15–20 hours, but adds 1.1 kg to your weight.
Specifications:
200W @ 4 ohms, 1.75” aluminium/magnesium tweeters, 6.5” flax sandwich woofers, Bluetooth aptX v.4.2, aux in, 500 × 305 × 224 mm,
9.5 kg, rechargeable battery (optional)
