5 Spring fashion trends that should be on your radar

From lace-trim shorts to pyjama-style pants, here are the 5 spring trends we can’t get enough of.

1. The ‘anywhere skirt’

If one piece is earning its name this season, it’s the anywhere skirt — the kind of midi that moves from Saturday farmer’s market to a casual evening dinner or music festival without a second thought. Think fluid silhouettes, a hint of structure through the waist (or this drop-waist version), and in floaty whites and ice-cream shades. Pair it with a fitted top or a cropped tee and sneakers or sandals.

2. Summer boots

Yes, boots in summer! This trend covers a number of boot styles, all worn with short-shorts or a mini skirt. Go chunky with a biker-chic pair, try a more fitted knee-high boot with heels for extra glam-factor, or opt for cowboy-style boots with plenty of attitude.

 3. Lace-trim shorts

Aka ‘lingerie shorts’, this is where romance meets relaxation – and the ultimate hack for women who want to feel feminine but have mixed feelings about skirts. The beauty of this trend is it blends comfort with factor-10 glamour, making it hugely versatile. Wear these shorts over your bikini to the beach, with a pair of heels to hit the night club, or add a blazer and boots for the boardroom (depending on how strict your company dress code is, you may want a longer pair for work). Satin and cotton both work well, depending on the occasion.

 4. Pyjama-style pants

No, not actual pyjama pants, but rather day-wear pants that replicate the comfort and roominess of pyjama pants. (Hey, if you want to go ahead and wear your Disney jammies to work, we won’t pant-shame you.) Think wide legs, drawstring or tie-up front, and breathable fabrics like linen and cotton.

@irenesteelestyle How to style…the pinstripe pyjama pants trend! This was one I was unsure of myself until I saw these in @H&M – they’re linen, they have pockets and they’re ridiculously comfortable. It’s all in the styling – by adding pops of red, it elevated the look ❤️. I’ve now seen them all over my TikTok feed – I’m blaming the girlies during Copenhagen Fashion Week for starting this one….🫶🏻.  5. Fringe theatre

Fringe is having a moment, and this season it’s less about Wild West cues and more about movement, texture – and a little drama. We’re seeing it on handbags, jackets, tops, skirts and dresses – the secret to styling it is to juxtapose it with something unexpected. Try a western-style suede fringe jacket with an outrageous fuchsia slip dress, or fringe hem skirt with a crisp white shirt. Or what about this bubble hem top with animal-print pants? Have at it!
