3 Different Bathroom Styles

Draw inspiration from these subtle yet beautiful bathroom styles and the trends they evoke.

1. Spa-like
Creating a spa-like sanctuary at home cannot be emphasised enough. Few things are more relaxing than climbing into that bubble bath or taking a hot shower in your natural oasis. Use bathroom plants to add in a shot of nature, as well as more natural elements of wood and stone finishes that will appeal to the calmness and serene setting of a spa. Consider plush towels and bamboo mats to elevate the sanctuary even more.

2. Vintage
While modern styles will always be in, a vintage look captures the heart with its history and old-world charm. The uprising in vintage furniture doesn’t escape the bathroom space. If anything, this is the room to infuse that essence with ornate mirrors, elaborate cabinetry as well as embellished door handles. These subtle nuances help carry the vintage feel without taking the bathroom back to the 1960s. Keep this trend up-to-date with neutral colour schemes and a softer palette.

3. Monochromatic
A monochromatic bathroom does not necessarily mean a black and white space. Monochrome has had its moments in fashion, so it’s time to carry this trend through to the bathroom as well. Unite the space with a cohesive colour palette, keeping in mind that everything can be a variation of the colour you choose. An all-white space is probably the norm, but if you’re keen to push the boundaries then consider a grey or green space. While your main elements such as the toilet or basin may remain white (it will also help break the space), the tiling, paintwork and decor items will add to the layers of colour.
