As the saying goes, less is more, and nothing embodies this the way tiny homes do. A trend that’s gained momentum in the past few years, living tiny is no longer just a pursuit of minimalism, but a lifestyle.

After realising how much debt the couple were accumulating, they decided it’s time to make some changes. It was Marek who first thought of the idea of moving into a tiny home. They traded their 102-square-metre loft for a 19-square-metre bungalow built on a trailer.
Their apartment in Florida boasted granite countertops, keyless entry and bells and whistles. Their new home still comes with cool features and gadgets: a living room with a 55 -inch widescreen with surround sound, a bathroom, shower, washer and dryer, a fully equipped kitchen, a compact-sized lofted bedroom and creatively fitted storage and closet space.
Ditching the apartment allowed the couple to erase their $125 000 worth of debt a year faster than they had planned. Pretty neat living for a tiny home and a peaceful happy ending.

When Christina Salway bought her now Airbnb farmhouse, she decided to add a little extra tiny treat. Not strictly a tiny house, but a rebranding of an old favourite, a tree house, but for grown-ups.
This compact sized tree house also has a twist. Instead of making it with bricks or woods, Salway chose building it with vintage windows, about 75 of them. Located in New York, this tiny home feels so authentic and like something that’s been there forever.
The interior is also decorated with antique furniture giving it a rustic feel, fitting for this vintage, glassy tree house. The house stands at 14 square metres, with a deck wrapped all the way round, giving you a 360-degree view. And to make the deal even sweeter, you can go down from the deck using a sliding pole.
