Winter may be cuddle season, but summer also has its perks and opportunities to treat your S.O. There are a lot of things you can do that will place you high up in their good books – did someone say major attraction brownie points?
Do it for the ’Gram
If you think your someone special looks extra beautiful today, insist on taking some photos of them. We assure you they’ll appreciate it. Not only does it show that you find them attractive (actions do speak louder than words, after all), but it also means they’ll have some awesome pics to post on social media. And speaking of the socials…If you’re looking to really boost their confidence and put a smile on their face, we recommend bragging about them on your own profiles. A picture and a sweet appreciation post shows that you are proud to call them yours. (Maybe just run photos by them – unflattering angles could land you in the dogbox, so tread carefully).
Who doesn’t love gifts?
There’s just something about receiving a gift (no matter how big or small) from your person that can make anyone feel extra special – it’s not something that should be exclusive to those whose love language is receiving gifts. We’re not even saying it should cost you an arm and a leg. Gifts come in different shapes and sizes. You could write them a sweet letter, buy their favourite chocolate next time you head to the grocery store, or pick flowers from your garden. Either way, we can guarantee that they’ll love the fact that you thought of them.
Be their hype person
If you want to make them feel extra loved, then don’t forget to shower them with compliments, too. Gifts are great, but every now and then a person needs a bit of a confidence boost. Tell your person that you’re proud of them for achieving a goal they worked so hard for. Let them know that they look beautiful. Don’t shy away from telling them how strong they are for conquering their fears. Be the person that hypes them up and makes them feel good – that’s the real way to anyone’s heart.
Thinking of you…
It’s the holiday season, so you’ll most likely be spending some more time with your mates. But just because bae is out of sight doesn’t mean they should be out of mind. It will mean the world to them if you let them know that they’re on your mind or that you miss them while you’re out with the boys. Don’t be surprised if you’re greeted with a big kiss back at home. There is a limit, though. You don’t want to be spending all of your time texting while you’re spending time with the other people in your life. One message will do.
Time is precious
Sometimes, offering up some of your time to spend with bae is more than enough (yet another one that shouldn’t be kept only for those with the specific love language of quality time). Surprise them with a romantic date, be it at a fancy restaurant or a picnic at the botanical garden or beach. Pay them a visit when they’re going through a stressful time. It’s summer, so think out of the box when it comes to date ideas and locations.
