Mrs Doubtfire

The beloved late Robin Williams will capture your heart in this film about love and family. After his divorce, Daniel (Williams) disguises himself as an old woman so that he can work as his children’s nanny in order to win back his family. Expect giggle-worthy scenes as we watch Daniel go to extreme measures for his cause.

 

Isn’t It Romantic

This one is for hopeless romantics and humbugs alike, as it questions how love and romance are depicted in romantic comedies. Natalie (Rebel Wilson), a realist who loathes romance, has her world turned upside down when she hits her head and wakes up in her very own romcom. Be prepared for heaps of laughter, relatable moments and a happy ending.

 

The Greatest Showman

A little bit of singing never hurt anyone, right? You won’t be able to stop yourself from belting it out as you watch this movie, which follows PT Barnum (Hugh Jackman) and his raise to fame through the creation of show business in the 1800s. Jackman is joined by a stellar cast giving show-stopping performances for a story that will tug at your heart stirngs.

 

Bridget Jones’s Diary 

This film is a firm favourite. Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger) starts the new year by keeping a diary and promising to hold herself accountable in every aspect of her life, including her love life. But it’s not too long before she finds herself caught between two irresistible guys. This film has it all – fun, laughter and romance. Yes please!

 

Elf 

This may be a Christmas movie, but Elf will have you laughing all year round with the overly-optimistic Buddy (Will Ferrell) making his way from the North Pole to New York to find his biological father. Through fun and often awkward adventures, this film uncovers the true meaning of Christmas, with a heartwarming plot and happy ending that’s sure to put a smile on your face.

 

Clueless 

This ’90s cult classic is a go-to if you’re looking for a cute and sassy film with all the style inspiration you could ask for! Follow Beverly Hills rich kid Cher (Alicia Silverstone) and her friends as they deal with crushes, bullying, parties and all the typical high-school drama in this light-hearted chick flick.

 

Set It Up

Not your average comedy, Set it Up sees two overworked employees – Harper (Zoey Deutch) and Charlie (Glen Powell) – plot to make their bosses fall in love. However, they don’t realise their own chemistry blossoming in the process. This charming and quirky film will leave you feeling inspired and in love with love!

 

She’s The Man

The hilarious Amanda Bynes brings out the snorting laughter in this film, which will bring on happy tears and some cringing as you follow Viola Hastings, a female soccer player who disguises herself as her brother to make the boy’s soccer team, with amusing consequences.

 

Last Holiday

In this comedy, shy saleswoman Georgia (Queen Latifah) decides to leave her mundane life behind and live each day like it’s her last after being diagnosed with a terminal illness. She ends up using all of her savings to embark on the most glamorous holiday of her life. Sit back and let the good times roll with this one!

 

Mamma Mia

Featuring numerous hits from Abba, this film highlights family, love and friendship as it follows Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) and her journey to find her real father in time for her wedding. With three men on the list, and her mother, Donna (Meryl Streep), in shambles, only chaos can ensue.
