It is a striking first impression, particularly when you consider the journey behind that lightness. Because Denise’s glow isn’t simply about looking good in front of a camera. It is the result of enduring and becoming; of weathering difficult seasons, questioning what she believed about herself and the people around her, and learning to rebuild with a stronger sense of self.
The chapters that shaped her
Coming from a wholesome upbringing, her mother especially was very consistent, overly protective and a great supportive system for Denise and her siblings.
“I’m the last born of four kids, so I was quite spoilt and protected by my older siblings. I enjoyed school mainly for the extra-curricular activities, such as art, plays and dance competitions, athletics, swimming and playing first-team hockey from Grade 8,” she says.
To this day, she loves making music and dancing up a storm – nobody can rain on her parade.
