Got a show you want to binge? Try this at-home two-strand twist-out method that’s practically foolproof. It’s also quite relaxing.
Detangle
The first step is to detangle your hair and loosen any knots with your fingers or a detangling brush. Go slow and gentle, and use a detangling lotion if necessary, just to give some extra slip and minimise damage.

Prep
Shampoo and condition your hair as you normally would, making sure to properly cleanse the scalp of any product residue. Try switching to a more deep cleansing option for days when you plan to style your hair. Follow up with your usual conditioner or a repairing mask.

Go
Section hair into small pieces while wet and comb a curling cream through each separate piece. Then, take one of the small pieces and separate it in half, twisting and wrapping the two sections tightly like a rope. Keep going until all the sections are neatly twisted. Sleep on a silk pillowcase or with a satin scarf wrap to help retain moisture and avoid breakage.

Unravel
Once hair is completely dry, start unraveling your hair piece by piece. If some pieces appear frizzy, apply a bit of serum or oil to your fingers to help smooth out as you unravel. Shake out your hair gently and apply a shine spray or serum to boost the bounce and enhance the curl pattern.

TIP If done properly, your twist-out should last for just over a week. Reapply a moisture mist or curl cream whenever you want to refresh and bring back some bounce to your curls.
