How to love being single again

Embrace your independence and enjoy the freedom of singlehood by discovering the art of solo self-care, adventure and more!

Learning to love being single again is hard in a world where being in a relationship often takes centre stage. Flying solo can be incredibly liberating when you’re trying new things, treating yourself, practicing self-care, and reconnecting with friends and family. So, let’s celebrate the freedom and cherish those moments.

Try Things You’ve Always Wanted to Do, Solo

It’s the perfect time to try those things you’ve always wanted to do but never had the chance to! Consider taking that solo trip you’ve been dying to take. Adventures can be taken with just yourself and some comfortable shoes. Why not try out backpacking, exploring the vibrant streets of a foreign city, or simply taking a weekend road trip to a nearby town. Try taking things to the next level by getting your own heart racing with some hiking, scuba diving, or even skydiving! It’s a sure-fire way to boost your confidence and create amazing memories.

Take Yourself Out for Dinner or Start a Supper Club

Treat yourself to a fine dining meal or grab a bite at your favourite café. The experience will allow you to savor your favourite dish and enjoy the ambiance. You won’t even have to share dessert! It’s a great way to appreciate your own company, but you could always take a good book with you for a little escape. If eating alone isn’t your thing, you can always gather your friends and start a supper club. It’s a great way to end the week, catch up and have some fun in the kitchen with friends.

Make Time to Gift Yourself

Why not take this time to spoil yourself? Whether it’s something small, like a bouquet of fresh flowers or that big-ticket item you’ve had on your wish list for ages. Note: it doesn’t have to break the bank. The act of gifting yourself is what counts the most. So, go ahead and treat yourself to an extra little treat.

Practice Some Good Self-Grooming

Self-care is really all about taking care of your emotional and mental health as well. Dedicate time to self-grooming to boost your self-esteem and confidence levels. You can take a relaxing spa day, try a new haircut, or simply do your make-up differently. It’s the act of making time for yourself that counts!

Reconnect and Deepen Bonds with Friends and Family

Being single doesn’t mean being alone. Reconnect with those you’ve fallen out of touch with, strengthen existing friendships, and make new connections. Spend quality time with your loved ones with coffee dates, movie nights or a midweek videocall. Social connections can provide a strong support system and enhance your overall wellbeing.
